How is data exchange governed between Actors, Services, Applications, and Connectors?

Every actor, service, application, or connector that binds to the network is well known. No networked system or person is allowed to operate within the ecosystem without being known, credentialed, and verified.

All data exchange between actors across the entire network stack and ecosystem is authenticated, authorized, encrypted, and audited. All internal software services (workloads or microservices) such as the Email Service, Health Services Service, and Billing Service must be registered with our Service Registry located within our Service Mesh.

Solution Applications are either internal Safe Health Solution Applications, or external third-party applications such as EPIC or Teladoc. Applications are more flexible in scope. All applications are registered within our Solution Application Registry. For a third-party to register an application, they must first establish a Partnership Agreement, which provide the governance and terms for use of the Solution Application within the ecosystem.

Connectors are either internal Safe Health Connectors, or external third-party connectors. Connectors are a special kind of Application that implements a specific interface. Connectors are more rigid in scope. All connectors are registered within our Connector Registry. For a third-party to register a connector, they must first establish a Partnership Agreement, which provide the governance and terms for use of the Connector within the ecosystem.
