Connected Device
The Connected Device System enables conveying medical data from devices that support reading diagnostic data electronically into SafeCDx.
A Connected Device is a Medical Device that has a Bluetooth interface, NFC interface, has an IP address, or an API.
Some Connected Devices should be bound to a specific Patient, like a diabetes meter, or a pacemaker. These devices need to be “paired” to a Patient through mechanisms like:
- Bluetooth pairing
- NFC pairing
- Adding API tokens or credentials
- Scanning a barcode
Other Connected Devices are not bound to a specific Patient, like a sphygmomanometer (blood pressure monitor). For these devices the measured value must be bound to a specific patient manually every time a new measurement is acquired.
